You may notice that things look a little different on the site/blog! I’ve been working behind the scenes on a new blogsite, combining both the portfolio site and blog into one…but in the meantime thought it would be nice to freshen up the current look a bit. It’s just a taste of what’s to come! Enjoy!

The holidays are almost upon us… can you believe it? Seems like the last few weeks have absolutely flown by. I’m taking a few days coming up to be completely dedicated to celebrating the best of the season with my friends and family. From Wednesday, November 23- Sunday, the 27th I’ll be occasionally checking in and returning calls, but be patient if you haven’t heard back with my usual quickness.

I might lose a few friends for saying this…

but I’d really like just a little kiss of snow.

See, I spent my childhood north of here, in the land of ten thousand lakes, where it snowed from October to April. And the reality of it is that I know snow is messy. Causes car accidents. Smells on your mittens when it’s wet (ew. Sorry for that thought…). But it’s also fun. It brings out the inner child, with snowball fights and forts. Sledding. Ice skating outside. And part of me is longing for that right now, instead of the bitter cold and brown grass we’re seeing plenty of these days.

And I know some of you delightful readers have had more than your share over the last few weeks. So, if you have snow, go out and make a snowman for me, would you? (And send me a pic! Let’s do a contest of snowpeeps! Winner gets my undying admiration jealousy and a $10 gift card for hot cocoa at Starbucks. No snow? Improvise. Let’s see what you’ve got.)

Wishing you a weekend of snowman-ing!

I’m so excited to share that I’m photographing portraits with Santa again this year at Grand Mere Village to celebrate the holiday season at their open house. Join us, this Sunday (November 14th) from 1-4 p.m. for the festivities! We’ll be inside the former Healthy Baby Boutique space, between Avalon Hair & Nail Salon and Mr. K’s restaurant. Donations of gifts and clothing for the Manhattan Emergency Shelter will also be accepted.

There are moments when you’re in the thick of everyday life :: Little Man, business, daily responsibilities. Trying to keep some resemblance of harmony (which, I know, is easier said than done some days. ). And then there are quiet moments where we collectively stop to breathe, where the balance of our little family seems so in proportion. It justifies why we do what we do. For moments like this…
