I haven’t featured any products lately, and I’m absolutely in love with this one :: a wedding guestbook, created from your unique engagement portraits. Kelsey and Brendon’s just came back from the lab, and I’m thrilled with how it looks! Imagine, a lovely book to have of your engagement portraits, and the love of your family and friends who are present to celebrate the beginning of your life together and their words and well wishes, all among the same pages. It’s like M&M’s and popcorn–separately, two things that make you happy, but together, have a whole other dimension to them. :)

Just like all of the products I offer, this album was custom-designed with the couple’s favorite images from the session. What I love are the big blocks of space throughout the portraits for guests to write advice, stories, or just a simple congratulations.

The pages are lightweight, and on a smoother paper than the other books or albums you’ve likely seen from us, to make it easy for writing without smears. I love the hinged paper so that the pages lay nice and flat–a total bonus.

If you’re interested in creating a custom book like this with your portraits, use the contact form at the top of the blog or email me at info {at} cathymoresphotography {dot} com for pricing and other information. Isn’t something like this better than pictures on a disk? :)

I’ve talked before about decorating your home with your images after a session. And while I love the big eye candy/statement pieces on the walls…sometimes you may decide that there are too many images that you just can’t live without. Because of the way she looks at him. Because of the story that their sweet (or sometimes mischievous) eyes tell.

Because they are moments you don’t want to forget long after the day has passed.

Signature and Gallery Albums are a perfect, fantastic way to preserve those moments :: from size small enough (5×5″ or 8×8″) to carry in your handbag to a big, beautiful coffee table book, at 10×10″ or 12×12″.

These albums were created with buttery-soft chocolate leather covers and a luxurious gold foil stamp with the family’s name and session date. Covers have so many options and ways to customize…like my studio sample.

The larger one in the back is a 10×10 Signature album, and the smaller 8×8 size is a Gallery offering.

Both are printed on photographic paper, with rich, beautiful, vibrant color and a slightly textured finish. I love these albums because there’s no break across the spine–so you get big, wide images across the spread, and the pages lay wide open for a great big image area.

Each album is entirely custom-designed. We can choose the images together, or you can select the ones that you feel best represent the story that you wish to capture. You can add messages and wording, if you like. Things that your little ones say that make you smile. Or special stories that hold a significant memory.

There are subtle differences between the two, as well. You’ll never worry about bent pages with Signature albums–pages are mounted on heavyweight board, giving a sturdy, substantial feel. The pages of Gallery albums are more lightweight, making them easier to carry (especially the smallest size :: it makes a stunning gift for grandmas to show off their beautiful family!).

Their spines are wonderfully classic, too :: never going out of style, and will sustain through the years as it becomes a family heirloom. Both albums are completely archival, and with gentle care will be a signature memento that your family will appreciate and cherish for the future.

I have long been looking for new album suppliers, and after LOTS of sample prints, research and digging, I think I’ve finally arrived at the products that I’m happy with. While it’s been a lot of work and time to find just the right options, my willingness not to compromise on quality or detail means that you’ll get a fabulous album product that I know you’ll be happy with for many, many years.

One of the things I didn’t get into much discussion with this post some time ago was the option of having a custom album made of your session. While it can be a significant investment, it’s a piece that you’ll be able to share for generations to come. And it’s another way of telling your story—your love, your struggles, the achievements you’ve championed. What’s really fun and unique is that each album is custom designed and personalized for you.

I’m so excited to share a sample of the studio’s album! This is a 10×10 panoramic, which means the images cross the center of the page with minimal to no break in the photograph.

I love, love, love the brushed etched aluminum cover. Other options are available :: acrylic (yes, plastic!) covers for a sleek, modern look :: aluminum or copper :: traditional leather :: or custom printed with your favorite image on the cover.

Inside pages can range from 10 – 20 pages. I wanted the look for this album to be very, very clean and minimal ::
