My heart is so full — I’m so incredibly honored to be featured today on Rêverie Bébé with Oliver’s beautiful newborn portraits. I love this sweet and modern blog, curated by the editors of the fabulous Rêverie wedding blog & magazine. It’s absolutely lovely and I’m so humbled to be featured!
He’s an angel.
A little, 5 pound, 4 ounce angel sent through the gift of adoption to two people who waited, wished, prayed and dreamed that someday he would grace their lives. My heart is bursting for them to have such a beautiful addition to their family—newborns always make me a little tearful at the amazing gift their lives are—and this one is extraordinarily special.
Meet Oliver.
Little man, we are so happy you are here. I am so honored to photograph these precious first moments for you.
So much love, Cathy
Oh, the love I have for this little man runs deep and he’s barely a couple of weeks old. And a super easy, laid back baby…he posed so effortlessly and was calm as could be through the whole session (although a full belly and warm blankets didn’t hurt either?).
Meet Will, nine days old ::
I’m loving these sibling portraits ::
Just look at this little cutie! At three weeks old, he was a fun age to photograph — totally aware of his momma’s soft and sweet voice, and so content in her arms. We photographed him in the family’s home, which is where newborns are generally most comfortable among such familiar surroundings. I found myself quickly enamored with his little belly rolls and sweet, chubby cheeks.
Asleep in heavenly peace.
Soft, gentle, and so, so sweet.
One of the family’s favorite things to do together is make music — dad is an amazing guitarist, so it was really special to him to have this portrait. And the blanket is was made just for Trey — it was warm and thick and incredibly soft!
I never tire of seeing how much mommas love on their little ones.
And even better when dad gets in on it, too! A timeless family portrait, in my book. This is how I’d want to remember the early days….
Such a happy, sleepy peanut.
Thanks, Trey and family, for asking me to capture these early days as a family for you!
She made her pregnancy look so effortless :: carrying herself with grace through every movement and flow as she stood in front of her yogis at Orange Sky Yoga for another practice (while the rest of us, sweaty and breathless, might have momentarily considered trading places with her!
) And as a mom, she has the same natural grace and ease, her love and adoration evident every time she locks eyes with Indie’s sparkling baby blues.
In the backyard where Indie’s mom and dad will promise forever to one another later this week :: the same backyard that has been part of family weddings, celebrations and gatherings, we photographed their beautiful family…and those sparkling baby blues. I’m totally in love with this hat (and matching diaper cover!) :: she had just started rolling over earlier that day, so keeping her stable to get the shot was fun!
Indie was so patient. Clothes on. Clothes off. Hat on, hat off. Nary a fuss or a whimper…. she just rolled with it.
Love those baby legs!
So cute.
J, S & Indie :: Quite simply, although it doesn’t seem like enough, thank you. Thank you for sharing these moments with your daughter, who embodies the very best of both of you. I’m honored to be part of your lives and celebrate the joy and spirit that Indie brings to your family. See you on the mat. Namaste.

Are you on Facebook? Of course you are…go ahead, like Cathy Mores Photography!
How do you say hello and goodbye in nearly the same breath?
Fourteen days after her birth, her father will board a plane and travel halfway across the world, to a place of unrest and turmoil. He does it to better a life for her and all of us, so that she can grow up in a world that thrives on gratitude and civility, instead of hatred and terror. At fourteen days, he is already her hero.
His love for her is gentle, quiet and strong.
We photographed this little beauty at five days old :: the perfect opportunity to capture the tiny features of newborns. Her Polynesian heritage runs strong and deep, evident in her creamy skin and gorgeous eyes.
One of my favorite images of the day–crying baby and all. It just oozes sweetness.
I struggle with the words that come next…because I can’t explain the immense responsibility I felt in getting this session “just right”. Knowing that these images will help carry her dad through for the next 9, maybe 12 months, is an honor and a privilege that I can’t explain. I am deeply humbled and immensely grateful to have helped this family celebrate their new life while acknowledging dad’s departure so soon after her birth.
P family, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for trusting me to create these images, these moments forever cemented in both your heart and mine. Your strength and love has made an impression that will not be soon forgotten.
This little guy was so sweet to photograph–at ten days old, having traveled across nearly fifteen hundred miles to be embraced by a warm, caring, and patient adoptive family, baby Cameron has already experienced what it means to have found a home among the ones you love.
And how could you not love his sweet face and tiny features?
Cozy and sleepy…
And his awesome big brother, ready to assume his responsibilities… (who, also, BTW, loves to have his picture taken. You would have never guessed, right?! How cute is he!??)
Snuggled up in a handmade blanket by his grandmother. All together now…. awwwwww…
